On a rare sunny winter’s day, 8 club members ventured into the hidden Elandskloof valley behind Villiersdorp.

Eight adventurous souls embarked on a weekend hike in the Northern Cederberg, setting off early on a rainy Thursday the 27th April.

Tucked away in the north-western end of the Langeberg is a cluster of remote, high mountains known as the Kwadousberge. These include Keeromsberg (2071m) and the striking Saw Edge Peak (1723m). This weekend we would only tackle the ‘babies’ of the range, Rabiesberg (1663m) and Naudésberg (1644m).

A party of five headed into the less frequented area of the Hex lying just to the east of Milner Peak.

Twenty-three sleepy souls met at the Jonkershoek Reserve Gate at 07h15, eager for a long and rewarding day in the mountains.
